Veritas Villa offers a full range of professional training in the field of chemical dependency. Trainings are presented on a weekly basis by credentialed dependency professionals for a nominal cost which includes lunch.

These chemical dependency counselor professional trainings are offered by Veritas Villa as a professional courtesy to support the continued credentialing and professional growth of persons entering the field of chemical dependency, as well as seasoned dependency professionals.

The letter that follows was written by Jane Brown who did her internship at Veritas Villa.

 “I enjoyed my internship at Veritas Villa, which means “House of Truth.”  The Villa family has welcomed me and taught me so much.  All this time, I thought that the light at the end of tunnel was “Hoboken, New Jersey,” but now I know otherwise!

I believe that folks get a very special “kick start” into recovery here.  I have witnessed God’s helpers right here in Kerhonkson, getting them ready and prepared to re-enter their worlds anew.  I believe that God will keep them snug in warmth of His care.

Internships are designed to help make transition from passive learner to active professional.  Villa staff has embraced me and helped me discover my readiness and to utilize my skills.

The staff here is professional, warm, and dedicated.  I have found that Veritas Villa is a nice place to work, and a nice place to get well.  I now add my internship to my internship to my gratitude list.

We all have stories to tell.  From primitive cave drawings to present day technologies, stories have been exposed, released and used as healing tools.  We are all human – warts and all!  Here, nestled in God’s mountains, folks step into recovery and willfully turn profound sadness in uncontainable joy!”

My name is Matt Ryan and I would like to welcome you to our website. I am 25 years sober and have worked at Veritas Villa for 16 years. I am a counselor on the men’s clinical team. I presently work with the uniformed officers and union members that served at Ground Zero. I believe that unresolved trauma will ultimately prevent some people from getting sober therefore it needs to be addressed in a safe supportive environment in early recovery. I look forward to seeing you when you come to the Villa!
