My name is Joe L. and I am 5 years sober, one day at a time and by the will of God.
I just wanted to express my complete gratitude for my advancement into the new life I have today. I realize that it’s all within the fact that I surrendered and came to believe in a power greater than myself. I went to many rehabs over the years but finally entered the doors of the villa and became willing to do whatever it took this time. I guess you can say I was done and wanted to stop, GOD DEFINITELY WORKS IN YOUR HOME!
In the rehabs I went to in the past I only worked on Steps 1-3. At the Villa I was required to work on my 4th and 5th step and was forced to take a look at myself. I later learned these are the action steps I needed to take to begin my recovery process. I realized after I left the villa, the urge I always had to do it my way wasn’t there and I called a friend before I even unpacked my bags and ever since have been doing the right thing.
I hope one day I can return to the villa and express and speak my gratitude for what you so freely given me and to spread the message and hope to the next sick and suffering alcoholic/addict.

My name is Matt Ryan and I would like to welcome you to our website. I am 25 years sober and have worked at Veritas Villa for 16 years. I am a counselor on the men’s clinical team. I presently work with the uniformed officers and union members that served at Ground Zero. I believe that unresolved trauma will ultimately prevent some people from getting sober therefore it needs to be addressed in a safe supportive environment in early recovery. I look forward to seeing you when you come to the Villa! |
